CUBAN ESSENCE

A Cuban American timba orchestra, with an exciting and truly new sound. Playing an original contemporary body of work brought to life with authentic Afro-Cuban rhythms and concepts. The songs of love, life and dreams are made accessible to all through lyrics in English. The orchestra made its debut in the summer of 2007 at the Chicago Board of Trade concert series to high acclaim and was featured at Nacional 27 with rave reviews. www.cubanessence.com

Educator

In 2011 I toured with Cuban Essence under the auspicies of Quad City Arts, artist outreach residency program, which reached over 5,000 enthusiastic listeners, dancers and patrons of the arts. Performing in concert halls, schools, museums and performance arts centers. The project yielded a CD/DVD set which is soon to be released. Can't wait!

I have also completed a very sucessful residency at Ravinia Festival, teaching Afro/Cuban music and social studies.

Recently, I have also taught an extensive, AfroCuban music program for Chicago Public Schools.
